Miranda Lara

Library Specialist

Ms. Lara has a degree in Political Science from UC Riverside and is a current graduate student at the University of Washington. Her passion for libraries and her love of books is on full display every day in the school library. She is always excited to send every student home with their new favorite book.

Library Hours

The library is open to all students before school begins between 7:15 AM - 7:40 AM and again after school 2:20 PM. Every student has at least one weekly opportunity to visit the library with their class, but they are welcome to return and check out books during open library hours.

Accelerated Reading Program (AR)

AR is a quiz -based reading program that encourages students to challenge their reading levels. While not every book in the library is an AR book, you can easily search for AR titles on AR Book finder.

Destiny Discover

Destiny Discover provides students, parents, and educators access to the library catalog directly from their laptop. Students are welcome to browse for titles and put holds on books that they can pick up in the library outside of class time.

Battle of the Books

Battle of the books is a voluntary reading club open to 3rd - 5th graders who love to read and love to compete. Throughout the year, student participants across the district read the same books from a list designated by Library Services, and they compete in a Royale style competition at the end of the year.
