Message from the Principal

Welcome Back Juniper Families!

It is with great excitement and anticipation that I welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year at Juniper Elementary! As your principal, I am honored to partner with you once again in supporting the academic and social growth of your children. We are thrilled to have our students back on campus, ready for another year filled with meaningful learning experiences, new friendships, and exciting opportunities.

This school year promises to be both enriching and engaging. In addition to our strong academic program, we are proud to offer a variety of Expanded Learning Opportunities that will allow students to explore their interests beyond the traditional classroom setting. These programs are designed to inspire curiosity, build creativity, and encourage students to discover new passions in areas such as the arts, STEM, wellness, and more.

I’m also excited to share that we are entering our second year of AVID Elementary implementation in grades 3–5. This program has already begun to have a positive impact on our students, and we are pleased to announce that we will be expanding AVID into grades K–2 this year. AVID equips students with the tools they need to be successful both now and in the future. Through a focus on organization, goal-setting, collaboration, perseverance, and relationship-building, our goal is to instill a strong academic foundation and a growth mindset in all students.

With AVID as a guiding framework, students will engage in routines and strategies that promote independence and critical thinking, such as using planners, keeping organized notebooks, and participating in focused collaborative discussions. These skills are not only essential for academic success but are also valuable life skills that students will carry with them far beyond their elementary years.

We also look forward to continuing our strong partnership with parents and families throughout the school year. We will be hosting a variety of family focused events that bring our community together and create opportunities for collaboration and celebration. We encourage all parents to stay connected and get involved by joining us for Coffee with the Principal, attending ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) and SSC (School Site Council) meetings, and sharing your valuable input. Your voice matters, and your involvement helps shape the success of our students and our school community.

As we begin this new school year, I want to thank you for your continued support and partnership. The connection between home and school is vital to student success, and we are committed to maintaining open, transparent, and positive communication with our families. Let’s work together to ensure that 2025–2026 is a year of growth, achievement, and joy for every Juniper student.

Welcome back, and let’s make it a great year!
